Michael Kors Spring 2012

Safari style is laid back & casual, yet exotic & sexy. It has become a classic in fashion, it’s influence reappearing every year on the runway & through retailers.  This year, Michael Kors revealed a Spring 2012 collection full of gorgeous global style. Kors created a collection infused with warm earth-tone colors like  amber & olive and natural textured fabrics like suede & linen . To our delight, some pieces from his ready to wear line are quite affordable, like this animal print maxi dress for $140. Check out michaelkors.com to see more!

Want the look? Check out Zara, one of my favorite retailers, to get your fix! They have a TON of safari looks! Everything from ombre & watercolor dresses, to safari jackets, to bold aztec printed skirts. Here’s an idea of what you’ll find…

ethnic print dress $59

feathered tierea  $29

zebra print blouse  $49

bib necklace $49

Check out zara.com to view the rest of their stunning collection.

Add adventure to your jewelry box with Wild Life by Heidi Klum. Heidi presented her own line of jewelry this past fall on QVC with a variety of moderately priced costume jewelry. You’ll find many tribal inspired pieces like bib necklaces, hammered detail rings, and chunky cuff bracelets. My fave, this gold bib necklace with removable drop.

While you’re out shopping this weekend, embrace your adventurous side and try safari! Look for pieces with a relaxed fit and made with natural fabrics like linen & cotton.  Stick to colors like khakis, army greens, warm reds and oranges, and yellows.  Military jackets and cargo pants are a strong base and can be complimented with accents like animal prints and chunky jewelry to keep it feminine. Tribal influences like ikat and aztec are also  great accents. You can dress up this look by selecting tailored fits and adding heels.

Happy Glamming!
